Facilities Mitchells Marine and Mitchells Joinery occupy a 2000 m² yard in Silverdale close to Gulf Harbour. This boat shed is fully equipped with the latest equipment and infrastructure plus a resident staff of qualified boatbuilders and joiners. Mitchells Marine and Mitchells Joinery are therefore well-placed to effectively renovate and refit yachts up to 70 feet in length. Transport Being close to Gulf Harbour we are well placed to accept transported vessels into our large shed. We can look at various options for you including access up the local river depending on draught The Yard The boat shed as seen in the photograph, is fully secure, dry and well ventilated.  Work Best Practices Years of experience and shown that it is effective to have mezzanine docking inside the shed for boats that come in for a refit. The purpose and benefit of this is to minimize the use and cost of scaffolding, enable craftsmen to easily access the vessel at deck level, minimize walk time from a boat to bench and in general terms make the whole access and operation of the refit much more effective and economical. Walk time is a major hidden cost factor Staffing and Special Contractors We have a full quotient of skilled staff to cover specialized joinery work, hull repair and upgrade, deck work and equipment fitting. However, where it is required to provide a very specialized professional service, we bring in qualified contractors to carry out the specific work.
