Launched in August 2005 Kiwi Blue is the second Elite 12.8m Sportfisher built by Bartlett Marine Ltd. She has accommodation for 6 in 2 separate cabins.
Powered by a single Cummins QSC 500 common rail diesel engine she can cruise at 21 knots while top speed is 26 knots.
Fuel economy & the lower build cost of the single installation were a major consideration in the building of Kiwi Blue.
The main saloon is finished in teak and leather with a raised dinette that seats 6 comfortably. 360° visibility is achieved while seated.
The U shaped galley is aft of the dinette on the port side and features a 4 burner stove, oven and grill, microwave and sink with large bench spaces finished in carbon fibre.
On the starboard side of the main saloon the entertainment centre has a flat screen TV, DVD, Stereo, bar, fridge and storage. A settee large enough to sleep on is forward of the entertainment centre.
Aft of the galley the companionway door bifolds and the remaining window hinges up against the cockpit cabintop to almost totally open the bulkhead giving great indoor outdoor flow. The cockpit contains freezer, gas locker, rubbish bin and storage lockers.
Transom doors large enough to accommodate the Aquapro dingy sitting flat, are central in the transom.
The large boarding platform has quarter rails fitted incorporating rod holders and ladder. The cockpit and boarding platform are laid in teak.
A spiral staircase provides access to the bridge which has an aft helm with seating for 2. Wrap around seating for 6 is forward in the bridge including a 12v fridge.
The hardtop is fitted on Stainless Steel posts surrounded by clears other than the centre panel of the windscreen that is a glass panel fitted with a wiper.
A lot of care has gone into the finish and practicality of Kiwi Blue with many new ideas being used as we try to do on each new boat from Bartlett Marine Ltd.
