Tiger Bay

Tiger Bay is a 14.7 m (48ft) flybridge sportfisher, designed by Don Senior and built by Auckland based boatbuilders, Bartlett Marine.

Powered by a pair of 420hp Caterpillar diesels, Tiger Bay has a maximum speed of 27 knots and a displacement of 14 tonnes. Bartlett Marine used traditional epoxy/glass over ply construction, with four skins of Gaboon plywood on the hull and composites used in some areas, including the hardtop.

Unlike many of today's new sportfishers, Tiger Bay doesn't have an enclosed flybridge, with the owner opting for a hardtop with clears. With the main steering station inside, the flybridge secondary station is fitted out with only the necessary controls and navigational equipment.
The layout could be described as typical kiwi, with the galley aft on the port side, U shape dining area in front and main helm station and lounge opposite.

There is accommodation for six in three cabins with a port side master stateroom and two guest cabins. All the cabins share the same large toilet/ shower area and there is a second day head in the cockpit.
Teak is used throughout the interior, with leather soft furnishings adding a touch of elegance.

Tiger Bay resides at the Wellington Naruba Cruising Club from where she cruises the sounds and surrounding coast.

Bartlett Marine specialise in this type of custom build.

Recent launchings include a Salthouse 12m 'Sierra', Tiger Bay and a 14m Salthouse design 'Destiny'.
